Eros was awarded an excellent and won the intermediate class. There were only 5 males in total this day that was awarded excellent so I was so pleased with Eros achievements

It's not that easy to strike a pose IN the ocean! But Eros is doing his best, as always!

When I saw the judge thank some of the dogs who were in front of me, I was thinking
"Pass us by, pass us by".......

and he did.....These are the 5 Best dogs of the show! Unbelievably we were one of them!

We were Best in Show- Reserve and I was so happy to be placed in a BIS-final!
I was concentrated as there were photographers who wanted to take photos of us....

Elangeni BraveheartRules - Eros, 15½ months old at the International Dog Show in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Easter time 2009. Eros was first out in open class since they don't have an intermediate class in Monaco. They only have open-, champion- and junior class. So Eros had to compete against the "big boys", almost all of them were Champions in their countries, France, Russia, Italy & Germany.

Eros the youngest with his 15½ months. The other males were 3 years and up to 7.

Showing teeth and do the examination in the line up? Didn't know that was coming, but it went well.

I was glad to see that the judge split the class when we were suppose to move since Eros needs a big ring to show his movements. In the background, the IntCh Shangani Umvutcha Lonzo from Russia with his professional handler, and then an import from USA Oakhurstwhr Merigal's Shombay

I just have to do some more running myself to keep up with this great mover, Eros!

Of course more running (although I don't think that the judge cared so much about movements).

It was a rather small ring, huge class with RR males yet the judge had us standing in the ring while he was writing critiques. Lots of waiting but then the judge chose Ikimba Waitimu as winner in this open class with CAC (you need two CAC to become a Champion in Monaco). Eros was awarded excellent, with great critique in French....... so unfortunately I can't retell it for you.

Eros, 15½ months, after our "debut" in the official show ring in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

New country, new rules. The French RR Specialty in Fréjus, France. I had entered Eros in Intermediate class and this class was the first out. The judge, breedspecialist and President of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club in France, Monsieur Christian Jouanchicot, felt Eros tail and counted his balls and yes there are two of themJ.

Although the ground wasn't the best (I prefer grass) the ring was huge and Eros could show his great movements.

Doing the triangle, at least I am trying....Eros won intermediate class and was awarded excellent so now we waited for the open class to finish.

Competing for Best Male and the CACIB. Eros stacked up in front of the best champion male, and the judge came and took a good look at the dogs expressions.

And off we went, again.

Running for CACIB.....

and as you can see, Eros did a great job for many laps, coming & going...but this time we lost to the champion male, IntCh Shangani Umvutcha Lonzo, 6 years old, living in Russia.

The Lovely Eros!

Eros 7½ months old, in the ring at Norrköping National Dog Show the 16th of August. Judge: Fernando M Rodrigues, Portugal. Eros behaved beautifully and ended up as BOB puppy.  We (Eros other "mum" Maria and I) where asking ourselfs, should we stay in the pouring rain for the finals? We decided to give it a try....

6 hours later, Eros and I enter the final ring with great stride. 27 sweet puppies from different breeds are lined up in the big ring. The judge: Johan Juslin, Finland chose to keep 9 puppies, and Eros was one of them.

Eros and I were in a good mood since Eros really started to show off. The judge then
chose his top 5 puppies for the day. I was so very, very happy when I realized that Eros was one of them. More running and the judge had made his final decision....
I suddenly realized that it is only a beautiful schnauzer and Eros left to be placed. I searched for Maria to get eye contact, I found her, she was cool (as always) just smiled and whispered "breathe, breathe".

The speaker then calls "....and the most beautiful puppy of the day is.....
....the Rhodesian Ridgeback - Elangeni BraveheartRules"! I couldn't believe my ears!
I was so incredibly happy (and still am) and also tremendously proud over our little boy's achievements. BISS Puppy one week earlier and now this. Sometimes life just smiles at you, I just have to learn to smile right back!

Eros 7½ months old, enters the ring at the International Dog Show in Nyköping the 17th of August. Judge: David Miller, USA. The rain is pouring down, but it is good training, for both Eros AND me.

The examination went smooth despite rain coats, bad weather and my nervousness...

BOB Puppy - Elangeni BraveheartRules.
Since Eros "cousin" Navy also went all the way to BOB this day we decided to stay for the finals despite the steady downpour. The day before, Mats was so sorry for not being at the show ground when Eros was BIS Puppy, so I said to him "If you come with us tomorrow to Nyköping I will show you againJ"! Yeah, yeah sure! But he came along, as the nice husband, driver, tent- carrier/builder and photographer he isJ.

No fans at the finals yesterday.... I just couldn't cope with that again, so I just forced the poor "Shumba" family to stay and cheer for us.
You have to BE brave if you are a true Braveheart!!!

18 wet puppies entered the final ring this rainy day. And for sure Eros made an entry...

He moved beautifully although the Shiba in front of us wanted to play and was more in the air than on the ground.

Another Finnish judge, Tapio Eerola chose to keep 7 puppies. Then a more careful examination was made and more movements. And again Eros was among the top 5.

The judge taking a last look, and handsome Eros stood like a statue.

As you all can see I was in total chock when the speaker, now in NYköping, calls
"..and Best In Show Puppy today is..the Rhodesian Ridgeback-Elangeni BraveheartRules"

I just had to have my moment in the ring. I could not believe what just happened.
I looked up in the sky (there is a God! along with our God of Love, Eros.) I looked at a soaked Maria (to the left in the photo) and then I walked up to the judge and gave him a big hug. I told him that Eros was BIS Puppy in Norrköping the day before. His respons to that was "I truly understand that, you just can't resist your dogs movements, he is absolutely fantastic"!
